Simone Kortstee
Dr. Simone Kortstee, C.Psych.
Dr. Kortstee is a clinical neuropsychologist who provides services to children and adolescents with learning and/or behavioural difficulties. In her practice, she provides neuropsychological assessments that are intended to shed light on the neuropsychological processes underlying the learning and/or behavioural difficulties. A neuropsychological evaluation includes assessment of general cognitive abilities, academic skill development, sensory and motor skills, attention and memory skills, as well as social-emotional and behavioural adjustment. Results of the assessment lead to a better understanding of the child's or adolescent's learning and behaviour and subsequently to effective treatment planning and recommendations.

Professional Biography
Dr. Kortstee's career in neuropsychology began in The Netherlands, where she earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology in 1988 at Tilburg University. She continued her studies in Canada where she graduated with a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor in 1998. She is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and has practiced in various medical settings, including the Free University Hospital in the Netherlands, the Hospital for Sick Children and Bloorview Macmillan Children's Treatment Centre in Toronto. Currently, she works at CHEO, where she also serves as the Professional Practice Leader for Psychology. Dr. Kortstee has experience working with children with neurological conditions such as epilepsy, acquired brain injuries, genetic disorders, brain tumours, and systemic diseases. She also brings a breadth of experience in the areas of mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders. (e.g. learning disabilities, ADHD, autism). In her practice, Dr. Kortstee frequently liaises with other professionals and school boards..
